First Laugh

Can't believe we caught this! He's been doing this kind of husky cough type laugh, but it never actually came out as a chuckle until tonight! Thank you Lord for the blessing of the laugh of a baby!

Ouch!

She broke the plug face with her face...

Mommy's Day

We started Mother's Day with a dinner on Friday night at a new restaurant on Eagle Mountain Lake. It was not totally what we expected, but was close to home so that was nice.

When we got home that night, we started on our Grandmother's Day gifts.

They were a hit

On Sunday, we ate at Kinkaids for lunch and then Pappadeaux for dinner!

Playing Catch Up

Why is it that when I'm at home, I am too busy to blog? Maybe busy isn't the word, maybe it's lazy...
Anyway, here's what we've been up to lately.
Last Friday, we met Sara and Owen at Central market for lunch. The weather was beautiful and so was the fellowship!

That night, we headed to Mom and Dad's for a goodbye dinner. They headed out the next day for 2 weeks in Greece, Turkey and Italy. SO Jealous!
Monday, we went out to enjoy the great weather. It was Cooper's first trip to the pool. Note to self- rub in spray on sunscreen. I had a very odd poke-a-dotted sun burn.
This week has been pretty calm. We went to Chuck E. Cheese with Sara, Chad and Owen. The kids are too much fun! Check out Cooper's cheeks compared to Owen's- WOW. We had lots of pizza and laughs and Sara and I had matching spit up stains.
Here is one recent video of Coop

Waffles and that is 7 in a row...

On Friday night our resident Martha Stewart, Emily, had us out to the house for waffles and lots of laughs! We watched the Rangers, did The Shred (I did if while holding Cooper...), played horseshoes and ended with Apples to Apples. Check out Em's blog for pictures
Then on Sunday, about 25 of us headed out to watch the Rangers yesterday afternoon. The weather was AWESOME- we all got a nice sunburn though!
Can you see the cotton candy on Paul's chin?? AND I love his hat!
Joe is wearing Lola's sunglasses- WOW

2 Months!

Can't even begin to tell you how much Cooper has meant to us in these last two months! He has brought new life into our already crazy household! It has been the most wonderful addition to our family.
Here's some of the special things about our Coop-
* It has been really fun to watch him become more aware of his surroundings. He follows noises and lights. He is starting to become more comfortable laying in his play center and his swing. Still not really into the bouncy seat like Caroline was.
* He has been sleeping through the night for weeks now and this past month he as spent most of his nights in the crib. Once he moved in to his room, he has not wanted to come back and see us- and I am not complaining about it at all!
* He is getting so BIG! He went from the 55% in weight last month to the 92% this month! I knew he was a chunk! I He remains in the 95% in length, so he is one big guy.
* He eats at least 6 ounces every meal which is common for babies quite a but older than he is
* He is still suffering from reflux. It is not as bad as others we know, but we all smell pretty sour these days, so sorry to anyone that hugs us!
* He is still pretty bald, but has some fuzz coming in
* I love dressing a boy. It's not as fun as a girl, but I love seeing him look like a little man!
* He smiles so much theses days. Every time he smiles at me I just say "Thank you!" it really is like it's a special little gift for me
* His little noises crack us up. It's like his arms and legs will start working and his eyebrows will raise and we all hold our breath and this teeny tiny little squeak comes out. It is too adorable
* Really doesn't love the car seat when he first gets in, but calms down once we start driving
* He got to meet Aunt Allie and Uncle Anthony this past week and won them over like he has the rest of us!

Seriously???

Earth

While Allison and Anthony were in town, we went to see the Earth movie. I could go on and on about how much I loved it! I loved seeing it through Caroline's eyes. She was on the edge of her seat the entire time! Every time an animal came on, she would say "Is he mean?"! Her expressions and excitement were such a joy to be near. I think I watched as much of her as I did of the movie!
Another thing I loved about the movie was the way it pointed straight to the Creator- not in word of course, but it just couldn't help it! The amazingness (not sure if that is a word) of our planet was breathtaking! They showed scenes of landscapes changing from season to season and all that came to my mind was "Why, God, did you do this for us? How do we deserve such beauty?" and then it came to me- the changing of the seasons shows us how God can take us from being dead and dull to being alive and glorious! It reminded me that "to everything there is a season" (turn, turn, turn- sorry I couldn't help it!). God takes us through cycles in our lives, but there is always spring after winter! As I was looking at the beautiful flowers and scenery, He was saying to me "If I care about the lilies of the field, how much more do I care about you? If I am going to teach these animals how to get through the desert to water, how much more will I lead you to my living water after a drought in your life?" I was so revived when I came out! Thank you Lord for speaking to me in the everyday things!
Last weekend was so much fun! I miss my brother in law and sister so much when they are away! We always try and spend every possible minute together when they're here! It was Anthony's first chance to see Cooper, so that was special. They were also able to be there for our baby dedication on Sunday (more to come on that later). I am always so thankful to get to spend time with them (and to eat at all of my favorite restaurants in a very short period of time!).
Check out my skinny sister!
